ABOUT US
Over 25 years working in the architecture industry, Paul Reed Architects was set up in 2010 and became a ltd company in 2019.
We work primarily on residential projects, including new build high quality design homes, large scale house renovations, bespoke home office and garden building design, loft conversions, extensions (of various styles), work on listed buildings and development within conservation areas.
We are passionate about high quality detailed design, sustainability, biophilic design and creating quality homes to live in, all tailored to the project and client requirements.
We firmly believe home is where the heart is, it is your hub, your base, your nest from which you go out into the world. We believe in creating a home you will always love coming back to.

We provide a service tailored to each individual clients needs, developing the brief with the clients budget desires and ideas in mind, whether for a new build house, extension, loft conversion, garden room or full house renovation.

Our design approach is to provide an exciting and engaging service, developing the design together. Throughout we balance client budget, desires and needs, site context, sustainability, planning risks and construction methods to create inspiring spaces.

We will guide you through the various stages, project managing the design from brief development, to planning permission, building regulations and construction drawings. We can also recommend trusted builders, advise on building contracts and undertake contract administration during the build.
We believe the design process should be cost effective to the client, it is for this reason we are often 20% cheaper than other practices.
We undertake work throughout the South East, with experience designing for urban, sub-urban, coastal and rural settings, including conservation areas, The South Downs National Park (SDNP) and Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB). We design many kinds of residential projects for homeowners, self builders, property developers, project managers, builders and design and build companies.

We have also worked on a number of projects lead by builders, project managers and design and build companies and are always happy to team up with other building professionals to provide a full design and build service.

We act as Lead Designer on all projects and coordinate specialist consultants, surveyors and engineers, and team up with other architects (if needed) on larger projects.
We understand the necessity of teamwork and respect the particular skills of each member of the team during the design and building phases. Teamwork and respect is essential to a smooth, stress free project.

YOUR PROJECT
A brief consultation will help develop your initial thoughts into a design brief. We will discuss your time frame, budget and above all your ideas, tastes and functional requirements for the project. From this we can look at the way forward and plan a route as risk and stress free as possible to create your dream home. We will then give you a break down of fees.
There is obviously no obligation should you decide not to go ahead with the project.

And our contact always has a break clause for any reason should you decide the project isn't going in the direction you'd like (though nobody has ever used this !)
